Spring is coming slowly but surely on the trail!

We had a cold night last night, but warmed up to the thirties for the start of the day.  After an initial rocky stretch there was a lot of good switch backs on the way up to Carter Gap.

Part of the ridgeline looked like there  had been a fire at some point

Found some cool looking mushroom/fungi on a downed tree.

There were plenty of streams to refill all the way up.

Once at the top we set up camp and got a pretty good campfire going

We got word of a thunderstorm moving in, so I put a little extra work into setting up the tarp. We have been lucky, dodging storms so far, hopefully it continues!
